‘Orwellian’: Wikipedia accused of changing the definition of a recession

Wikipedia has been criticised after the website changed the definition of the term recession and locked the page to prevent editing by the public.

The criticism comes as the US records its second consecutive quarter of negative growth, which is often regarded as the start of a technical recession.

However, the White House and the National Bureau of Economic Research disagree, arguing the technical definition of a recession is different.
