Kazakhstan will reportedly redirect cargoes located on the territory of Russia to the Latvian ports of Riga, Venstpils and Liepaja while Turkey was invited to actively use the Kazakh seaports of Aktau and Kuryk for shipping cargo.
Kazakhstan’s government has reportedly noted that there were difficulties in transporting Kazakh cargo from the Russian ports of St Petersburg, Novorossiysk, Ust-Luga, Taman due to the refusal of the transshipment transit ports of Antwerp, Hamburg, Pirineus, Rotterdam and Mugga to accept Kazakh cargo.
Kazakhstan is also looking to make full use of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route which through China, Kazakhstan, the Caspian Sea, Azerbaijan, Georgia and further to Turkey and European countries.
Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, and Georgia are reportedly holding legal and diplomatic talks to establish a joint venture through the railway administrations of the three countries to fully exploit the transit potential of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route for cargo flows from China/Central Asian countries to the EU countries and back.
The joint venture will reportedly render the qualitative multimodal, transport and logistics services, help establish a through rate for the transportation of goods across the countries whose railway organizations, ports and sea carriers will be the founders of the joint venture. The route also connects with the International North–South Transport Corridor (INSTC), which is a 7,200-km-long multi-mode network of ship, rail, and road route for moving freight between India, Iran, Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Russia, Central Asia and Europe. With the help of EU funding, Romania is expected to expand the Constanta Port and Bulgaria to expand the Burgas and Varna Ports.
The Trans-Caspian International Transport Route represents the interests of number of countries and companies on the new Silk Way which now starting its functioning like in the days of the ancient Silk Road. The Route is aimed to coordinate interaction of all the participants of transportation of goods and containers along the route from Asia to Europe and in the reversed direction, including needed informational support.
The Trans-Caspian International Transport Route helps to create competitive environment and assist making best efficiency for the companions from business societies of different countries not only along the Trans-Caspian route.
